CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

For all classes:
Wear loose or stretchy clothes and dress in layers. Do not eat for at least 1 hour prior to class. Yoga is practiced barefoot. No need to pre-register, just arrive 15 minutes before class and sign in with the teacher. We provide mats and other props you may need.

Levels:
Level 1: For students who are new to yoga or who prefer a gentler class.
Level 2: For students who are comfortable with the basic yoga postures.
Level 3: For experienced students who prefer a more challenging practice.

Our Yoga Styles:

Hatha Yoga: Simply the physical practice of yoga. Classes include instruction in a variety of postures, conscious breathing and relaxation. There is typically an emphasis on connecting movement with the breath.

Iyengar Yoga: Iyengar-style Yoga is the most common style of yoga practiced in the U.S. Characterized by the use of props (straps, blocks, blankets, etc.), this tradition focuses on precise alignment in the postures.

Regain Motion:  This is an extra gentle class for the student who is stiff or recovering from an injury or surgery. We move mostly from and with a chair as needed.

Restorative: A passives class using many props to support the poses. Each pose is typically held for several minutes or more to allow the body to release tension and induce deep relaxation.

Teen: A rejuvenating hour that helps teens cope with the stresses of daily life. We practice opening and strengthening the body, increasing balance, focusing the mind, and enhancing mood. Appropriate for all body types.

Hoop & Tone: Enjoy the fun and fitness aspects of hula hooping. Start with an easy warm up, hoop to fun music and learn a few "moves", then savor a mellow cool down.

Intro to Yoga: A four-class series designed to give beginning students the foundation they would need to feel comfortable in any level 1 class. Next series begins Sunday, January 8th.

Prenatal Students: We welcome you to several different classes. The teachers of these classes will know variations you may need as your body changes. Classes recommended are: Monday: 12:00PM, Tuesday: 8:00AM, or 9:30AM, Wednesday: 9:30AM or 5:45PM, Thursday: 9:30AM, Saturday: 9:45AM, and Sunday: 8:30AM and 3:00PM.

Private Lessons By Appointment: We offer private instruction as well as corporate classes. We will open classes (on- or off-site) for groups of 8 or more.
